Contesting and reshaping learning spaces: Students’ activism in South Africa

چکیده
Universities in South Africa are a microcosm of society and thus offer grounds for criticism. In 2015, the Rhodes Must Fall student movement emerged, which demanded decolonization. This became one most important social movements post-apartheid Africa. While was formed to protest against university, students created space transformative learning within frame university. article examines ambivalence university: on hand, as target criticism experimentation reflection societal change; and, other emerging collective processes alternative knowledge, instance respect decolonization also discrimination, racism marginalization.
